We took our lower-elementary-age kids to the Money Museum, and honestly we thought they might last about ten minutes before losing interest. We ended up staying for about 45 minutes and they had a great time! There was lots to see and do, and the highlights were trying to pick up the gold bar, creating their own currency, and seeing the robots carry the pallets into the vault. I would definitely recommend taking kids kindergarten and up!
Very interesting place. Not very big and you can do the visit within an hour. You will learn things you didn’t know about money for sure. Worth the trip and it is FREE!
Informational FREE museum located in the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. They have small bags of shredded money to take as a souvenir.
They have all the coins and paper money used in our countries history by year. You can also see the bank workers sorting money.. A lot of it too. Overall a nice experience.
Its free. Has a neat display of money orgami and a coin display going back to the late 1700's. The "no photo" area where they processed/counted money is not interesting. I would say an hour is plenty of time. No gift shop, but you do get to take a bag of shredded cash. I could not lift the gold bar.
A very unique experience, more friendly for kids than one would expect! It was cool to see money being processed. It doesn't take very long to get through, so it's an easy add to your itinerary. Be prepared to pass through a security checkpoint.
Had a fun time at the Money Museum. There is a ton of information there. It is great for kids because they can understand a lot of the information. They even give you a free bag of money! It is a little bag of shredded money but it is still funny. Just made me want to watch Mad Money, which was set in KC.
I love this place and it's free. You can take your kids for them to learn a lot from it.
Awesome place to visit. Good history on money, making, destruction, and banking system. Where else do you get free money upon departure. Advisory-you'll be surched upon entry. Free.
